Hello! I’m Aaron Rouselle, a passionate photojournalist with a unique journey. Let me share my story:
A Love for Photography and Writing:
Photography and writing have always been my twin passions. They allowed me to express myself, tell stories, and connect with the world.
But life took an unexpected turn in 2015 when cancer and a liver transplant altered my path. Suddenly, my ability to play sports was diminished, and I needed a new outlet.
Photography: My Lifeline to Sports:
Photography became my lifeline. It allowed me to stay connected to the sports world I loved.
I immersed myself in courses, honing my skills as both a photographer and a writer. The camera became an extension of my soul.
Certified Photojournalist Amid Challenges:
In 2019, I enrolled in a photojournalism program at Michigan State University. Little did I know that life had more challenges in store.
During the program, I fell seriously ill and required yet another liver transplant. But my determination didn’t waver.
Completing the Program Against All Odds:
Picture this: I completed my certification program while admitted to Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland. Peak COVID times, recovering from a transplant.
The camera was my constant companion, capturing moments even in adversity.
From Little League to the MLB:
Today, a little healthier, I’ve photographed it all – from spirited little league games to the grandeur of Major League Baseball.
Studio sessions and nature photography also fill my spare moments.
Pops Culture: Sharing the Love:
One of my greatest joys is sharing the magic of photography with students at my nonprofit, Pops Culture.
Their eyes light up as they discover the world through the lens – just as mine did.
Photography as My Lifeline:
Photography isn’t just my profession; it’s my lifeline. It’s the artistic outlet that keeps me going.
It bridges the gap between illness and wellness, allowing me to stay connected to sports – an integral part of my life.
Let’s Create Memories Together:
If you resonate with my work, whether it’s capturing a game, an event, or a studio session, reach out.
Let’s freeze moments, tell stories, and celebrate life through the lens.
Thank you for being part of my journey. 📸
